EarnJar Help & Support

The money lessons school forgot to teach.

How does my kid sign in?

On any device (including their own): open EarnJar, type the household email (yours), tap Child, tap their name, and enter their 4-digit PIN. Their device remembers them afterward. Kids never need an email address or password of their own.

My kid forgot their PIN

Parent app → Kids tab → Reset PIN on their card. The old PIN stops working immediately, everywhere.

Where did the proof photo go?

That's the privacy promise working: photos of finished work are deleted from our storage automatically when you pay the invoice (and after redos, cancellations, or 30 days — whichever comes first). They're not archived anywhere.

How do payments work? Is real money moving?

No. EarnJar is a ledger and a teaching tool — you pay your kid however your family does (cash, bank transfer, piggy bank), then mark it paid. EarnJar tracks the amounts, splits, and lessons.

Subscription questions

EarnJar is $8.99/month per household (unlimited kids, up to 2 parents) with a 7-day free trial. Billing is handled by Apple: manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. New phone? Tap Restore purchases on the EarnJar plan screen. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Notifications feel too quiet?

That's on purpose — the calm promise: at most one daily summary, only when someone's waiting on you, never promotional. Flip them on or off in Settings → Calm notifications.

How do I get my data out, or delete everything?

Both are in the app, no email required: Settings → Export family data (JSON of everything), and Settings → Delete account & all data (password-protected, permanent, includes destroying photos in storage). You can also remove a single kid from the Kids tab.

Something's broken

Kill and reopen the app first — then email us with what you tapped and what you expected. Screenshots help. We read everything.
